Photobucket ‘27 Dresses’ starts with a flashback where a brief introduction of Jane’s (Katherine Heigl) career is highlighted. It begins with Jane helping out her sister and the bride at the wedding ceremony and how she falls in love with being a bridesmaid.

In the movie, Jane is an ordinary woman who enjoys going to weddings, taking care of the bride, being a bridesmaid for her friends and of course being the wedding planner too.. It is fun to see Jane helping in two weddings on the same night where she has to hire a taxi for the evening and to travel from one location to another, changing different dresses while she’s at the back seat of the taxi. Her enthusiasm can be clearly seen when she has a closet full of 27 bridesmaid dresses.

Keen to know more about the details? Ha! But sad to say, I am lazy to type a detailed review because one, I feel that if you’re really into this movie, you should not read any reviews or compare it with other movies because some reviews kill your interests and you will also realise that ‘27 Dresses’ is quite (read: quite) similar to that of ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding - just that this is not her best friend, but her own sister!

Speaking of her sister, I would like to share a conversation between Jane and her sister at the bridal:

Tess: You won’t share that information with me about him. You wouldn’t hurt a fly. Besides, I’m your sister.
Jane: That was yesterday. Today you’re just the bitch who broke my heart and cut up my mother’s wedding dress

Interesting, huh?

Two, reviews can be quite subjective. What doesn’t turn out to be right to me may be right to you and vice-versa.

And three, I am lazy. Ha! Ha!

The conclusion here is that most romatic comedies are predictable, except for one or two rare cases where the Prince Charming doesn’t get hooked to the Princess, but this movie certainly manage to make one on cloud nine - all thanks to the scriptwriter, director and the cast.
