Because of a rotten apple, it spoils the whole bunch.
March 6th 2008 by pelfy in Life Of A Journalist-To-BeOur midterm for Communication Technology was supposed to be on 23 February 2008, but my lecturer changed it to 5 March 2008 so that we would have more time for revision. I would say I was very thankful for his kindness.
For those who studied, congratulations! I am sure you’d do well.
But, for those who cheated, I sincerely wish you all the best in your finals!
That’s the word! c.h.e.a.t.e.d!
You see, minutes before we entered the exam hall, my lecturer made an announcement that no bags were allowed. Only papers and pens.
You read that right - papers! We were supposed to bring our own papers into the hall and that was the main problem with smart students (as claimed by my tutor). Instead of bringing in empty papers, they brought in notes as well. NOTES! Gosh!
Of course, these smart students were not aware that my tutor would have a round-check. (I was glad she did) When the first student was caught, there were no announcements made, but when the second student was caught, I could see my tutor’s blood rushed to her head! She immediately asked those who accidentally brought in notes to leave the notes on the floor. Rows after rows, she made a scream! The third culprit was caught red-handed! Gosh!
“Final year students copying in the exam? Third year students!! Final year!,” she yelled.
The worse thing was, one of them was my classmate.
Aaaarrrghh!
Sick of it! Sick of it! But, like I’d mentioned, because of a (in this case, three) rotten apple(s), it spoils the whole bunch! Innocent studious students (like me) definitely are not able to accept being called, “cheaters”!
*sigh*
March 6th, 2008 at 12:36 pm
They should’ve all been failed there and then
I’m mean I know but cheaters deserve it
March 6th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
seriously do u have to announce this to the world whole? stop acting like a smart ass really, everyone has their mistakes and its no right of u to judge around. Even though the world may be democratic but it seems some people are misusing it.
I know you’re like all smart BUT give the rest a break! But then again I’m pretty sure u did not cheat in your lifetime or lied to your parents before; because that spells C.H.E.A.T.E.D… omg i’m good at this one
right… i might have to stop blabbering for now in case i’m judged for the misuse of freedom of speech. LMAO…
signing off… captain doo doo LOLOLOL
March 6th, 2008 at 10:22 pm
Hahhaha.. Siapa makan cili dialah terasa pedas! Mau marah-marah orang. CIS.
Anyway, I second Merv. Cheaters should be failed on the spot, just like how it is done in my university, hahahhaha!
March 6th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
To Mr./Ms. abuthen:
Seriously, Pelfy do not have to announce this to the world, but as a witness, she has the right to do so! Moreover, everyone have the right and own standard to judge what is right and what is wrong, can anyone say that cheating in exam is not wrong?well, if you say that is right, I really do not know what else I can say!
We are not smart, if you were in the same exam like us, I can tell you honestly, all you have to do is to follow the lecturer’s instructions. He is given the hints all along the way. We are only human and for sure human do make mistake, we used to be cheat before also. BUT, as a third year or final year student, and still need to cheat in exam…well, What a SHAME!!
Shame to yourself, shame to parents, shame to government who provide loan service, shame to your friends and classmates, and even shame to our country for feeding a rubbish like you! Shameful!
Would like to quote you of “i might have to stop blabbering for now in case i’m judged for the misuse of freedom of speech.” In this sentence, I understand that you agree that blog provide a certain degree of freedom of speech, then who are you to judge the freedom of speech here?
This is a personal blog, B.L.O.G.!, where an individual can express their feeling and emotion and experience in their daily life, frankly speaking, if you feeling not comfortable with this blog, don’t ever come and makes your heart pain, your blood rushed up your brain. Do stay at somewhere else that you are not expose to this blog.
Well, I think now is very clear of who is misusing democratic………aren’t you?
March 6th, 2008 at 11:55 pm
For me, cheating is not the worst thing.. the worst thing is the person who cheat do not feel guilty at all… i was sitting beside the person during that time.. i can see how her responds and expression…. she pretending like she is innocent… BUT WHO WILL BELIEVE??
March 6th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
To ms/mr abuthen:
Agreed to yen’s statement that, if you do not like this post. Indeed, you can leave this blog.
If what pelfy stated was not the truth, you could even sue her, take her to court on defamation. But, better get prepared as a lot of “eyes” who were there witness the whole shameful scene.
However, why can’t we put this thing up and share by others? if this is the truth? instead of barking here like nothing, instead of accusing this blog owner of puting this news, you are more like the BN politicians who wish to disminish all the buffs in the party. so Hegemony.
Well, if these C.H.E.A.T.E.R.S were innocent enough to claim that they were actually ACCIDENTLY bringing the notes into exam venue, they should then argue with Puan Rozana on the spot that they “INNOCENTlY” bringing the notes in and this wasn’t meant that they are going to cheat in the exam. Unfortunately, non of these people are doing. So, does that imply that they are cheaters? only god and their conscience will know.
I believe every one do cheats. As for human being, I cheat. However, I didn’t cheat during the exam’s progress, it’s soooo unfair for those (me)who struggling hard to remember the notes in mind where others (CHEATERS) easily get a good score in the exam.
if it is you did it, you should better have the preperation for the consequences. if not, you better stfu.
In short, I have to mention again. We have the right to say what we want, who cares? only those who are involved cares that. If you are not happy, you can sue. thats all. Stopped those nonsense.
by the way, you also cheated us by filled in the fake email address and your shameful name “abuthen”, so coward.
March 7th, 2008 at 12:06 am
I agree what yen said, personal blog, BLOG!!
As a journalism’s student, we know freedom of speech till which degree. misuse??
maybe we did it before (example like gathering more then 5 ppl at mamak, we usually do it talk about politic issues, anti goverment stupid policy… haha…!) but this type of blog, NOT!
we understand media law, pelf not write the person’s name, so no defamation law crime on her! What’s wrong with pelf?
As a child, we alr know cheating are bad action, we really can’t said that we can consider as “SMART” person, but as least we follow instruction!
Be a Year3 Uni student, we should be “SMART” on that!
Just a opinion here, “think well before you act”!
March 7th, 2008 at 1:34 am
Talking to freedom of speech, I would like to tell abuthen what is freedom! Like now, i named myself as abucha…that’s my freedom of speech, understand? I can say whatever I want, of cause I won’t touch on sensitive issue cause I scared ISA, OSA and sediction act.
It’s my turn now,
erm…totally agree with my classmates’ statement! CHEATED is a common thing, I do cheat before because i’m normal human as well. But, you’re 3rd year student, you’re mature…why you still want to do this? It’s not a real exam, it just a midterm…but CHEATED, really no eye see…
ABUTHEN,
i think you should understand ethics, put this case as a case study and use the theories to apply on it.
“right is right…wrong is wrong…imagine everybody is doing the same thing, how’s the world? Any meaning for exam? and put yourself to others’ ppl shoe, how about people who study until 3am or 5am? if that fellow got high mark and your mark is lower than her, how would you feel…don’t tell me that you’re ok on that. It’s unfair to everybody…especially those hardworking to “drive” at night!
“I’m innocent…” Hey…you tot you’re Gillian kah?
March 7th, 2008 at 1:45 am
ohya…..i do cheat before…doesn’t mean i cheat in exam…and i can’t tolerate on that.
U.N.F.A.I.R
March 7th, 2008 at 8:47 am
aiyoyo… what a shocker. this page has turned into a major post-exam forum… haha.. good work yeen =P you’ve now gotten lotsa supporters who will stand and speak for you. heh. but yes. those who cheat or attempted to cheat in exams shall be penalised and failed. this will protect the value and integrity of students who studied hard for their papers. to those who do not cheat in exams, cheers!
March 7th, 2008 at 10:36 am
Said: “Tak Nak” to cheaters!
March 7th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
She didn’t annouce the would, she only blog it, I think that is not a problem that she blogging it. I am very vey look down those who CHEAT but STILL act nothing happen! If you make mistake accidently, then it could be forgiven. BUT the worst is.. the person don’t feel guilty after has been caught!! Somemore blaming people annouce this to the whole world!! For abuten: please use your HUMAN BRAIN to think before you say bark! ok?
March 7th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
it’s not the matter with fair or not fair…eventhought i always get poor result in my exam but i never thought to cheat, because this is my own principle!
Yupe!i got suck result…but so what? atleast the marks i have is on my own work, I do not feel shame at all!!!
Mr/Ms Abuthen, I hope you can really think back and considering what I’ve said. everyone must have their own standard, judgement, and principle…..the basic of a human being….
March 7th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Speaking of my personal perspective,I’ve seen eye to eye with everyone except ‘mr/ms. abuthen’, i can’t hold my tongue and i would like to give ‘mr/ms. abuthen’ a tongue lashing:
1. Do not want others to know what you have done? Better not have done it anyways.By the way,NO names are mentioned and no defamation here because NO false accusation of an offense or a malicious misrepresentation of someone’s words or actions in this blog!
2. Definitely, ’smart ass’ much better than ‘cheat ass’. Cheating still happened when tips were given and it is an unacceptable disciplinary crime that has to be judged because students conduct themselves with integrity are disturbed when they observe others cheating. Moreover, honest students are frustrated by the unfairness of cheating that goes undetected and therefore unpunished. Cheaters also cheat themselves of a real education. They rob themselves not only of general knowledge, but also of the experience of learning how to learn.
3. Please don’t act like you know much about democratic, there is no misusing of democratic here,it is about freedom of expression:expressed the great dissatisfaction with an act of deception or fraud which mean C.H.E.A.T.E.D in the exam.
4. I know you are defending the cheaters but please get your brain in gear because what you are talking above indicates that you’re just a bird-brain. By the way,it will spoil oneself good reputation to cheat in the exam while hints were given.
5. Yes,certainly, you should stop blabbering, you’ve shown that you’ve got shit for brain and you are NO one to judge about the freedom of speech.
March 8th, 2008 at 8:51 am
Waaahh… I thought only students in our uni cheat for exams. But I guess there are such students everywhere and we can’t stop them no matter how geram we feel =(.
March 9th, 2008 at 4:56 am
What were the examiners thinking of allowing paper in anyway?! You are right to be cross with those who cheated - and right to tell everyone!
March 9th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Cheaters never cease to be extinct. And yes, they always affect the other innocent ones!
It’s quite sad to have those people spoiling the reputation of everyone, haihz.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
i personally think…if u noe u r wrong n u admit,god still can save u.
if u noe u r wrong but u dont admit it, god can’t help u.
i personally do not see anyone before who come to others ppl’s personal BLOG n scold tt author abt wht he/she wrote.
(i personally think wht abuthen has wrote is considered “scold” for me)
i personally think nobody can come n scold author in author’s personal BLOG.
In my opinion, if u reli disagree abt tt statement, u have 2 ways to do:
1) follow yen’s words: dont come read this blog
2) go back to ur own personal BLOG and scold as many as fierce as spicy as controversy as u like.
March 12th, 2008 at 3:18 am
Well, in my opinion, we should understand the purpose of pelfy to blog this post before we comment. She might want to be alert her blog viewers that “Think before you do”? Because the action we did without think carefully will not only ruin own reputation, but also the others’ reputations.
Chinese always say, “Men Xin Wu Kui” (ask own conscience and do not feel ashamed), meaning that we will not scare others to know if we did nothing wrong.
March 13th, 2008 at 2:28 am
so sad to hear about that.
I dont like people who cheat during exams. I hope they will never suceed in their life.
