Photo hunt - Old-fashioned
January 26th 2008 by pelfy in Photo Hunt
This week’s photo hunt theme is old-fashioned.
But I am not going to explain that term, like how the dictionary does because sometimes the definitions can be way too difficult for some to understand.
Thus, I am defining it in my own simple words. Old-fashioned means outdated; something nobody wants to use anymore. (well, if they have a choice-la).
I personally would not call myself an old-fashioned girl because I am not, but sometimes I would just have to bear with it, especially when I am playing some life-threatening games with my …. filial computer.

My sister’s elephant; my dinosaur.
This was my sister’s elephant computer. It was passed down to my generation when she left for University many many years ago. Back then, I had no choice but to use it for online-chatting (those days were ICQ and mIRC). As for now, I only use my dinosaur when (1) I am too lazy to carry my laptop home; (2) I want to play Need For Speed; (3) I feel like listening to the 70’s songs.
Now you ask: why do you call it old-fashioned when you can still use it? Ahaa.. Check out the (1) bulky monitor; (2) huge speakers; (3) external modem; (4) CPU; (5) adapters; (6) mouse and lastly, (7) keyboard! They are all gigantic, bulky, huge, enormous computer accessories.
** It was named elephant because it was bulky. It is named dinosaur because most of the antique accessories cannot be found in modern computer shops anymore. **
Geez. Anyway, happy weekend to all!

Haha! Great interpretation of this week’s theme. I have a dinosaur a bit like that, but the last time I used it was a year ago, when my laptop was away having a minor repair done. Have a lovely weekend!

Well that’s certainly old-fashioned, but I see ones like it quite often! Good post

I have an old fashioned computer like that sitting next to my new computer. I’ve never gotten all the files transferred to the new one even though I’ve had a new one for 2 1/2 years. At this point I may as well give up on the file transfer as I’ve forgotten what’s on the old fashioned one but every now and then I’m looking for something and realize it’s on the old one so I boot it up and get the file. Your post reminded me I should try to get the rest of the files switched over before it become 20 years, ha.

How old is it? Is it because I’m old that it doesn’t look that old??? ;D
January 28th, 2008 at 12:34 am
Nice take on the theme Pelfy. Happy Monday.
January 28th, 2008 at 12:36 am
We still have that kind of computer here. Have a great week ahead.

Yes, that looks very old fashioned! We considered finding a photo of an old Atari that hooked to the television but then we’d have had to explain what it was. Besides, Simone fit the cat theme!
