The rolling credits at the beginning of the movie is just so brilliant. So creative. It is made in such a way that you will never want to leave your seat no matter what happens.
“Nah.. by looking at the rolling credits, this is going to be an ordinary fantasy movie, ” I thought.
Ahh.. I was so wrong! Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium is definitely not an ordinary fantasy movie, instead it is an extraordinary movie made with hope and great love.
The director, Zach Helm, uses the ’storybook’ way of presenting the story. It is divided into a few chapters and that is where he brings out the beautifully-written scripts. Each chapter is given a title and the story goes according to the chapter.
The wonder of watching this movie is that it gives you a feeling of h.o.p.e. Each and everyone of us is given a hope and it is up to us whether to believe in it or ignore it. Molly Mahoney (Natalie Portman) is someone who does not believe in the hope given by Edward Magorium (Dustin Hoffman), but later realises it when she has to manage the emporium by herself.
Enough review for this time. I know it is short and simple. Heehee.. But, I need to go back to the books now. Final exam is just 6-freaking days away.
One short note, if you’re planning to watch this, remember to bring along two packets of tissue papers.
Happy watching!
