The week that was…
November 18th 2007 by pelfy in Extraordinary Posts, Life Of A Journalist-To-Be, My EscapeFive weeks gone for this semester, two more to go.
My group mates and I were rushing for our broadcast (radio) recording the entire week. We had to make sure that our scripts were ready by the time we record it so that the news will have ‘the flow’.
Now, people say: “life is like a roller coaster. Sometimes you’re at the top and sometimes you’re at the bottom”. I agree! Sometimes people give you last minute work. Sometimes other people complete them without any grumbles. Sometimes, people tell you last minute interview. Sometimes people tell you “don’t worry, we’ll handle it”. These promising words sometimes make my heart beats 120 times per minute, sometimes they make my heart miss a beat. Very challenging, huh?
Whatever it was, the recording turned out well despite a few arguments and some yellings. Well, that’s normal, right?
I was feeling disappointed too. To matters concerning friends. Why fight and scream at each other using abusive words? At the end of the day, what do you get? Why make a fool out of yourselves in front if everyone including the lecturer? *sigh*, Anyway, all the best to K and S (=
To something else. I went back to the historical city last Saturday and it was definitely a fun weekend. I was queuing at the ticket counter to get myself a bus ticket back to KL when a fair and lovely girl approached me. She asked for the direction to the bus terminal to get to the city and of course I gave her the directions. And I continued queuing.
Her boyfriend on the other hand, was queuing in front of me and he was also getting two 7.30pm tickets back to KL. It was already 1.45pm when he bought the tickets.
Mom and I then brought them to the bus terminal where they could wait for the bus. And we left.
The problem was, they were Koreans! Mom was very concerned as they would not be able to go to the places of interest in town as they had very limited time to go about. We turned a big round, hoping that they were still at the terminal and they were. We offered them a ride to the Christ Church and they happily hopped into our car!
Ha! Ha! The conversations we had were a combination of Korean, English and Mandarin. We introduced ourselves and they were really friendly. At some point, they couldn’t express themselves in English and they uttered some Korean words to me and I was like, “what?” Ha! We spoke to each other in English *that’s the good thing about having an international language (=* They also spoke to me in Mandarin because they thought I was a Chinese - the typical China Chinese! Wuakakaka!
Anyway, we exchange email addresses and contact numbers and we dropped them off at the Christ Church (= [I didn't know it was so fun to be a tour guide!!] haha!
Yesterday night, Mom and I also cooked the “crystal dumplings”. It was our first time cooking it. It looked good for the eye, but not for the mouth. Ha! Need to practice more when I go back this weekned (= Yum~ Yum~
Now, was that not a cool and fun week? What about yours?
